Recently I noticed that my gum is receding (Generalized recession)...most noticeable is the front (bottom) teeth. My dentist advised that this is probably due to my harsh brushing over the years. May I know will putting on braces worsen the condition? Will my teeth fall off easily during and after the treatment due to gum recession? Appreciate your professional advise. Thank you.

  • Gum recession due to braces is common in adults above 40 years of age....but at  young age braces are nowhere linked to gum recession. The most probable reason for gum recession is improper brushing technique...to know more about brushing technique you can see the link....http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-brushing-techniques-8.aspx
