Is there an expected lifetime of a root filling (root canal treatment)? Do you know of any studies of root fillings that go 20 years or more? Are there circumstances where you would recommend an implant rather than root canal treatment?

  • If Root Carnal Treatment is properly done and tooth is crowned it has good life span. For the Root Carnal Treatment to be durable ,you should have Six Monthly checkups and get the crown changed if advised. It is always better to go for Root Carnal Treatment if the dentist foresee good prognosis. In case resorption has set in or there is other complications which can cause poor prognosis then implant is recommend after extraction.
