I have some irritation around one tooth. It is a little red around the tooth, and it only hurts when I brush it. It has been almost 5 days and the pain barely started to slightly reduce, but now I have canker sores on my tongue and my jaw on that side of the mouth is slightly sore. I was wondering if I might have an infection. I just went to the dentist two weeks ago

  • It looks like that you have some infection or the pain can be due to canker sore also. The pain is self limiting and it goes within 7-10 days. The pain around the tooth where it is red can be due to some trauma from brushing. So when you are doing brushing, be gentle. You can do warm saline rinses and maintain good oral hygiene. You can also apply some topical gel on the canker sores. If it does not subside within couple of days then you should visit your dentist. for more info on canker sores, you can check this link in our website... http://www.identalhub.com/dental-natural-remedies-for-canker-sores-865.aspx
