My 12 year old son(12 in November) has 24 teeth and cracked his 2nd premolar(I believe) while eating doritos. He experienced no pain. Is his an emergency situation? Could it have cracked because his permanent teeth are coming in?

  • At the age of 12 years it is very unlikely that second premolar is cracked until the tooth is decayed. There is a possibility that the baby tooth was there and it has cracked as your son is not having any pain. It is better you visit your dentist and get the proper clinical examination done. The dentist will take history, do clinical examination and if required take and X-Ray. After that the treatment plan is decided. If the tooth is just broken because of decay then simple restoration will serve the purpose. For more information on decayed teeth you can visit the following link on our website...
