Hi i had one of my tooth filled today. After removing the tooth's decayed portion my dentist asked me to rinse. After that he straight away put the filling material in my teeth without drying my teeth. Isn't it necessary to dry the teeth before filling. Can this be a problem in future. Can decay occur under my filling.

  • Normally before putting the restoration, the tooth is dried. you have not mentioned the type of filling material used for filling. Some materials like composite are very technique senitive. These material needs proper isolation but some material are not that technique sensitive. If the tooth is not dried properly before doing the filling then may be the bonding of the material with the tooth can be affected causing the failure of the filling. Your dentist must be knowing so if you want you can discuss with your dentist. for more info on the restorative material you can visit the following link on oue website....
