Though going to a dentist is only recommended during second trimester of pregnancy i.e. from 4-6th month but for mild to moderate pain you can have a dental visit. The only thing not to be done is to take an Xray but now a days low radiation Xrays are used that are generally safe and are below hazard levels. Though medicines like ibuprofen, amoxycillin are considered safe but you should consult your dentist and gynaecologist before starting them.
So, dont avoid the dental visit. Schedule a visit and get the proper diagnosis done. It is important that you maintain a good oral hygiene during pregnancy.
