I've been told I need perioscaling because pockets are 7mm deep. Does it hurt? Are there risks? Is it truly needed? Is it generally a one time event with regular cleanings every 3 months or so.Is there a price range? If so, about what should I expect to pay?

  • If the pocket depth is 7mm then you have to go for SCRP as normal pocket depth is appox 2mm. Normal cleaning called prophy should be done after every 6 months to maintain the health of gums. This does not have any side effects and rather it makes the gums healthy as it removes the deposits and plaque and increases the micro oragnisms which causes the gum problems. The produre is not painful as it is done under local anethesia. The cost of SCRP is normally around $800 without insurance and is done in two sittings. for more info on SCRP you can visit this link in our website http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-dental-scaling-24.aspx
