so my 12 year old daughter came to me with this clear thing she says came out of her gum where her molar is coming in and where it came out that part of the gum is coming up like a children's book flap. she says it doesn't hurt and it was only bleeding a little bit (barely) so what is this clear thing and why is her gum flapped?

  • At the age of 12 years the 2nd permanent molar erupt in the oral cavity and may be this clear thing which you are writing is some ruptured eruption cyst which normally forms when the tooth is erutping in the oral cavity. If she is not feeling any pain or discomfort then it is normal. Just make sure that proper hygiene is maintained and make her do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day. Normally this condition subsides as soon as tooth erupts in oral cavity. If it still persists then you can schedule a visit to a dentist. for more info on children dentition you can check this link  in our website... http://www.identalhub.com/dental-tooth-development-and-eruption-933.aspx
