  • If you can feel the bone protruding from inner gum after so many days after extraction then you have to go to the dentist and get it pulled out. Sometime during extraction the part of the bone known as spicule gets embedded in the gum and does not come out. If it is small then with time it loosens and come out. But as you have mentioned that it is large piece then chances of it coming out its self is less  So it is better you get it removed from the dentist as it will cause irritation on the tongue. Sometimes dentist remove it without giving anesthesia but if he feels that the fragment is big then anesthesia is given to remove the spicule. It is a common complication after tooth extraction especially wisdom tooth in which bone cutting has to be done.
